From Strompdalsgården farm, take the trail down to Breivasselva river and across the bridge, continuing a hundred metres. The winter road (vintervegen), which is signposted, follows an old horse track that was built in the 1920s. The trail climbs through old spruce forest before it reaches more open crags dotted with pines. Despite occasional cairns, the trail fades as it leaves the woods. When you have passed Bekkedalen, south of elevation 248 m on your map, turn southeast towards the tarn at 310 metres elevation and the Sámi turf-hut (goahti). There are excellent spots to pitch a tent at both of these places, and Nedre (lower) Breiavatnet is known for excellent fishing!
