This gateway to the national park allows you to start your hike at Trofors railway station. The walk from the station to Stavassgården farm is 8.4 km. Follow Vestersidevegen road for 2 km to Øvergårdselva river, turning onto the signposted trail to Stavassgården just south of the river. Consider a path at the lean-to shelter situated halfway, which offers a great view of the river ravine. The latter part of the trail goes through a forest of large old spruce.
