Gateways to the national park

There are five main gateways to the Lomsdal-Visten National Park, each with public parking and information boards. In addition, there are many possible starting points for your journey into the national park.

Those who were here before us

Some of the most fascinating aspects of Lomsdal-Visten National Park are the traces of those who lived and worked here long before our modern, motorised era. Lomsdal-Visten, called Njaarken Vaarjelimmiedajve by the indigenous Sámi people, is rich in cultural heritage relics, the oldest of which date back 8000–9000 years.
